Who is Sheesh Labs?

Sheesh Labs is an independent software studio that builds practical, AI-powered software for the web. Its tagline is "Filling the gap," and its stated approach is to go where the software is most used and least modern. WordPress fits that description precisely: it runs a very large share of the web, and much of its tooling was designed before AI generation, AI search engines or agent-style automation existed.

The studio operates by three published principles, and each shows up in how it ships:

• Useful over impressive. "Version numbers, not adjectives." Products are described by what they measurably do.
• The parts nobody fixed. Pick the specific gap, not the whole category.
• Lab in public. "Builds, notes and readouts are the marketing. If something breaks, the fix ships with a number on it."

Here is everything Sheesh Labs has published about RankWave AI, in full: it is an AI-powered SEO and content-optimisation toolkit for WordPress that lets you analyse, optimise and track your rankings from one calm dashboard, and its cloud service is planned to run at api.rankwaveai.com. The studio is "putting the finishing touches on it."

That is a short description on purpose. The studio's first principle is version numbers, not adjectives, and an unshipped product has no version number. Feature lists written before software exists have a way of becoming promises the software then has to keep, and Sheesh Labs has chosen not to make them. When RankWave AI can be described by what it measurably does, it will be, in a post with a release number attached.

What should I use today?

A free hydrogenseo.com account adds AI: meta titles and descriptions with several suggestions and character counts, social titles, image alt text singly or in bulk across the media library, content generation and rewriting, featured image generation, and the Hydrogen AI agent that takes plain-language jobs such as "write meta descriptions for every post missing one" and asks before doing anything it cannot undo. The caveat that comes with it

Hydrogen SEO is Beta software, and the version number is honest. In its own August and September 2026 benchmark against Yoast SEO, Rank Math, All in One SEO, SEOPress, The SEO Framework and Slim SEO, the first run found that Hydrogen SEO 0.0.14 printed no canonical tag, a check bare WordPress passes. The studio published the result, fixed it in 0.0.15, and re-ran the whole field on 8 September 2026. In that re-run Hydrogen SEO 0.0.18 placed third on PHP time (+12.9 ms against The SEO Framework's +8.0 ms) and memory, second on queries and autoloaded options, and won the most-efficient-schema category. What does "built by Sheesh Labs" mean for RankWave AI?

It means the working method is already visible, even though the product is not. You can read Hydrogen SEO's changelog and infer how RankWave AI will be released:

1. It will ship with a version number, and probably a low one. Sheesh Labs left Hydrogen SEO at 0.0.x through twenty releases rather than calling it 1.0 early.
2. Its numbers will be published, including the unflattering ones. A studio that printed its own missing canonical tag in a public benchmark is not going to hide a slow query in RankWave AI.
3. Fixes will be named. "If something breaks, the fix ships with a number on it" is a release policy, not a slogan.
4. Nothing will be pre-announced as a feature until it exists. Which is why this post is shorter on RankWave AI specifics than a launch-hungry reader might like.
